Obituary of Joan Delaney

Joan M. Delaney Wellsville, NY Joan M. Delaney, formerly of Olean and Bolivar passed away peacefully Sunday (August 12, 2012) in the comfort and care of the blessed staff at Wellsville Manor Care Center in Wellsville after a short illness. Born November 13, 1927 in Olean she was the daughter of James G. and Kathleen Smith Delaney. Miss Delaney was a graduate of Bolivar Central School and of Westbrook Commercial Academy in Olean. She had been employed as a typist for many years at Traveler's Insurance Company in Philadelphia, PA prior to her retirement. She formerly attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Olean and enjoyed the quiet company of friends and animals, especially her dog. Surviving are three nieces Gloria (Jan) Sluyter of Bolivar, Karen (Vincent) Strief of Madison, WI and Joyce (Walter) Rouba of Trenton, NJ and several great nieces and great nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff for the comfort offered to their aunt during her stay in her final days. She was predeceased by a twin sister Jean M. Field in 1996. At Miss Delaney's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Private burial services will be held in Allegany Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
