Obituary of John Wolf

John A. Wolf Allegany, NY John A. Wolf of 2077 Klice Cross Rd. died Tuesday (June 12, 2012) in his home. Born December 16, 1938 in Allegany he was the son of Otto and Mary Grader Wolf. Mr. Wolf was a graduate of Allegany High School and then served with the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961. After completing his service but prior to moving back to Allegany he worked in the Pentagon. For many years he was employed by Olean Wholesale Grocery Co-op, Inc. He then established the Allegany Travel Service and later owned and operated the Allegany Liquor Store until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Allegany American Legion as well as having been a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are one brother Ronald (Julie) Wolf of Allegany; two sisters Eileen (Leo) Turner and Dorothy Wolf, both of Allegany; several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Evelyn Wolf of Allegany. He was predeceased by one sister Murble Heinrich in 2002 and four brothers George Wolf in 1980, Robert Wolf in 2010, Kenneth Wolf in 1993 and Donald Wolf in 2003. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home this evening (Thursday) from 7-9pm. A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday (June 16, 2012) at 10:00am in the Allegany Cemetery. Rev. Dan Buringurd, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany, will officiate, followed by full military honors accorded by the ritual team of the Allegany American Legion.
