Obituary of Gladys Williams

Gladys A. Williams Allegany, NY Gladys A. Williams, formerly of 88 N. 1st St. passed away Monday (May 28, 2012) in The Pines of Machias Nursing Home. Mrs. Williams was born October 12, 1915 in Hamburg, PA and was married to Paul M. Williams who predeceased her March 12, 1990. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany and was active in the church Guild. She was an avid golfer and formerly belonged to the Allegheny Hills Golf Club in Rushford and the Birch Run Country Club in Allegany. She also enjoyed bowling. Surviving are two sons Richard P. Williams of Cuba and Daniel E. (Janet) Williams of Apalachin, NY; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by two sisters, four brothers and a daughter-in-law Naomi Williams on June 4, 1995. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Friday (June 1, 2012) from noon until time of services at 2:00pm. Rev. John Woodring, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the First Presbyterian Church 44 N. 3rd St. Allegany, NY 14706.
