Obituary of Dorothy Mooney

Dorothy I. Mooney Olean, NY Dorothy I. Mooney, a longtime Olean resident died Sunday (April 15, 2012) in the Bradford Ecumenical Home in Bradford, PA where she had recently been residing. Born July 11, 1925 in Dayton, OH she was the daughter of Ralph A. and Eva C. Bronold Bosworth. On May 17, 1947 in Olean she married John C. Mooney who survives. Mrs. Mooney was a graduate of Olean High School and early in her working life was employed at the former Acme Electric Co. in Cuba. After taking time to raise her family she returned to work and retired from Time Warner Cable Co. in Olean. She was a faithful, longtime member of St. Mary of the Angels Church where she served as a greeter and worked many years for the annual church festival. Surviving besides her husband of Bradford Ecumenical Home are three children Patrick (Connie) Mooney of Olean, Michael (Debby) Mooney of Allegany and Ann (Robin) Hurlburt of Hinsdale; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday (April 18, 2012) at 11:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Dr. Suite Six, Williamsville, NY 14221.
