PHILIAS A. "SONNY" DUGRENIER
OLEAN - Philias A. "Sonny" Dugrenier of 1457 Indiana Ave. died today March 5, 2003 at Olean General Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Oil City, PA on March 16, 1930 he was a son of Philias A. and Velma P. Stevenson Dugrenier.
Mr. Dugrenier served with the United States Air Force. He was employed as a police officer in Oil City, PA and worked for thirty-three years for the Pennsylvania Railroad prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Beagle Club and the Olean Eagles Aerie #616. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He is survived by a daughter; Christina (David) Kamery of Olean and a son, John Dugrenier of Cuba, NY; five grandchildren, Angelia, Kristi and John Dugrenier and Susan and J.D. Kamery. Two sisters Mary (Thomas) Strawbridge of Oil City, PA and Betty Heininger of Altoona, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a Brother John Dugrenier and a sister who died shortly after birth.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday March 7, 2003 at 7:00 PM at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. Rev. John Bartz, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church will officiate.
Friends may also attend funeral and committal services for Sonny on Saturday March 8, 2003 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Oil City, PA. Rev. Eremie H. Pons will officiate. Immediatly following the services, the family will have a reception at Hoss Steak and Seafood House, 520 North Seneca St., Oil City.
