Gordon E. "Butch" Leonard, Jr.
Hinsdale, NY-- Gordon E. "Butch" Leonard, Jr. of 4774 Five Mile Rd., town of Ischua, died Friday (March 16, 2012) in Rochester General Hospital after a long illness.
Born March 19, 1947 in Rochester, NY he was the son of Gordon E. and Jean Slocum Leonard, Sr.
Butch was raised in the Rochester area before moving to Hinsdale in 1973. He worked at many jobs over the years, most recently for St. Bonaventure University as a dietary aide for sixteen years. He enjoyed playing pool in area leagues and he loved the outdoors and camping.
Surviving are two sons Robert J. (Tarra) Leonard of Hinsdale and Michael L. Leonard of Arkansas; five grandchildren; one brother John (Phyllis) Leonard of Lyons, NY; his loving companion of eight years Robin Willard of Hinsdale and her two daughters Tanya Willard and Jenise Williams whom he loved as his grandchildren; Robin's grandchildren Aiden, Daymion, Areyelle and Tayvion and other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Betty Leonard.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday (March 20, 2012) from noon to 2pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Marie Lorenz Dialysis Center 500 Main St. Olean, NY 14760.
