Obituary of Robert Agett

Robert E. Agett Hopewell, VA Robert E. Agett, formerly of S. 14th St. in Olean passed away Thursday (March 15, 2012) in the Riverview on the Appomattox Health Care Center in Hopewell, VA. Born October 17, 1919 in Farmersville he was the son of Clair and Erma Mulliken Agett. On February 9, 1946 in Rochester he married Joan Griffith who predeceased him October 20, 2002. Mr. Agett was raised in Rushford and later enlisted in the military where he served during WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Early in his career he was employed by Stroehmann's Bakery as a salesman and later as a manager for Hydrox Dairy. He then worked for McGraw Edison for ten years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church. Surviving are two sons Richard (Shelly) Agett of Edwards, CO and Donald (Michele) Agett of Williamsburg, VA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife and a son Robert Agett on May 5, 1994. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State St. Olean on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (March 24, 2012) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
