Obituary of Robert Moore

Robert Eugene "Gene" Moore Olean, NY-- Robert Eugene "Gene" Moore of 130 S. 5th Street passed away peacefully Sunday (March 18, 2012) in The Pines of Machias. Born July 3, 1926 in Olean he was the son of John and Anna Hannigan Moore. He was married to Barbara Bender who survives. Mr. Moore was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and also attended the University of Buffalo. He served in the military with the US Army. His career was as a social worker with the Catholic Charities in Olean. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #338 of Olean and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am Tuesday (March 20, 2012) at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Dr. Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
