Arthur R. "Pooch" Frederick VANDALIA - Arthur R. "Pooch" Frederick of Route 417 died Thursday March 6, 2003 at the Olean General Hospital shortly after arrival. Born July 11, 1926 he was a son of Cecil and Erma Harmon Frederick. On March 25, 2974 in Allegany he married Betty Lou Kutchmyre who survives. Mr. Frederick served with the United States Navy during WWII. He was self-employed for many years prior to retiring in 1982. He enjoyed reading and fishing. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Charlotte Frederick of Hume, NY; two sons Arthur Frederick, Jr. of Texas and Gary Frederick of Delaware, NY; one grandson, four great grandchildren, a brother Ronald Frederick of Texas , a sister Audrey Bell of Lafayette, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sons, Daniel and Michael Shumway, a brother Claire Frederick and sisters Marie Darcy and Geraldine Hoffman. Friends will be received on Saturday March 8, 2003 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road Olean from 2 - 3 PM at which time funeral and committal services will be held. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery Veteran's Field of Honor. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
