Obituary of Patrick H. Linehan

PATRICK H. LINEHAN "Devoted husband, father and grandfather" OLEAN - Patrick H. Linehan a resident of The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and South 10th Street died Friday March 7, 2003 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Brookville, PA on April 2, 1922 he was a son of Daniel and Gertrude Guth Linehan. Mr. Linehan was a graduate of Olean High School. He served with the United States Coast Guard during WWII. On May 22, 1948 he married Patricia G. Dorson who survives. Mr. Linehan was employed for 49 years by Conrail. He served as Local Chairman of the Brotherhood of Railroads Union for 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 338. Mr. Linehan had a great respect for life, and had many friends. He enjoyed the sunshine, being outdoors and spending time with his wife of 54 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by four daughters, Nancy Knapp of Carmel, IN, Suzanne (Steven) Zappone of Centreville, VA, Janine (Joseph) Stevenson of Rochester, NY, Anne (Dale) Anderson of Olean; a son Joel (Pamela) Linehan of Plainville, MA, 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Daniel, John and Herman Linehan. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean on Sunday, March 9, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 10, beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Angels Church at 10:00 AM. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial and committal services will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
