Obituary of Barbara Winnickey

Allegany-- Barbara A. Winnickey of 3147 Blinn Road, died Thursday (January 5, 2012) shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital. Born October 21, 1928 in Olean, she was the daughter of Seth and Lucy Hodge Hull. On May 21, 1949 in Allegany, she married Carl Winnickey, who survives. Mrs. Winnickey had attended Olean High School. She first worked at the tile plant and later, she and her husband moved to the town of Tonawanda for many years, returning to the area in 1974. She is survived by her husband, two children John C. (Carol) Winnickey of Tonawanda, Carla A. Winnickey of Allegany; three grandchildren Heidi and Joseph of Tonawanda and Edward of Richamond, VA; three great-grandchildren; one sister Donna Pecone of Olean; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son David in 1950 and several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Monday (January 9, 2012) for a memorial visitation from 2-3pm at which time a memorial service will begin. Rev. Gerald leFeber will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials if desired may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
