Obituary of Emma Wiedman

Allegany-- Emma L. Wiedman, formerly of Oak Street in Allegany, passed away Saturday (December 3, 2011) at the Absolut of Allegany, where she had been residing for the past four years. Born November 11, 1917 in Bellevue OH., she was the daughter of Albert and Irene Ocker Flenner. On October 22, 1944 in Bellevue, she married William Clayton Wiedman, who predeceased her on January 2, 2007. Upon graduation from high school, Mrs. Wiedman went to work for the Ohio Power and Light Company in Mansfield Ohio. After moving to Allegany, she helped her husband at his business, Wiedman Commercial Refrigeration. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany and was the oldest living member of the Bellevue Ohio Althea Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Wiedman was a member of the Olean General Hospital Auxiliary and was a supervisor for many years for the Candy Stripers. She volunteered at the Allegany Public Library and was a member of the Allegany Historical Association. Most of all she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are one daughter Paula (Richard ) Bzdak of Allegany; one son William (Colleen) Wiedman of Allegany; two granddaughters Mariah Bzdak and Abigail Weidman; one brother James A. Flenner; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by one sister Ruth VanHall and one brother Richard G. Flenner. There will be no visitation at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. Memorials if desired may be made to the Allegany Public Library, Allegany Historical Association, William Clayton Wiedman Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Allegany-Limestone Central School or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
