PAUL POPELYAS
ALLEGANY - Paul "Popeye" Popelyas of the Buffalo Rd. died Tuesday March 11, 2003 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in New York City on March 25, 1934 he was a son of Paul Camielo and Betty Popelyas. Mr. Popelyas has been a resident of Buffalo road since 1998 and attended the Lifeskills program through the !ReHabilitation Center.
Paul enjoyed watching western movies, "Betty Bears", presents and traveling by car. He has no surviving family, but is survived by those who were closest to him and considered family including Don Bozard, Scott Dickerson, Paul Hess, Melody Thompson, Terry Brunke, Margaret Sturges, Jeanine Pascarella, Frank Sturm, Zack Lerminiaux and Jered Loeschnig.
Friends will be received Wednesday March 12, 2003 from 7-9 PM at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday March 13, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Burial and committal services will follow at Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the !ReHabilitation Center, 1439 Buffalo Street, Olean, NY 14760.
