Anna E. leFeber
Allegany, NY Anna E. leFeber, a resident of Absolut Care of Allegany, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Wednesday (September 7, 2011) while surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 23, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of Frank and Annie Kate Lammers Ecke. On January 12, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Glendale, NY she married Arie leFeber who predeceased her September 18, 1997.
Mrs. leFeber was always devoted to her family and church. Shortly after her marriage she moved to Westbury, NY where she was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. In 1963 she and her family moved to Fremont, CA and she was active with the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. During these and subsequent years she devoted herself to the care of her mother and husband as well as to the members of her faith community. Additionally she was an Avon representative for many years. In 1984 she and her husband retired to Hillsboro, OR where she attended the Trinity Lutheran Church. She had been a resident of Allegany since 2001. Her giving nature extended to her church family at St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany and to those in need in the community. She served for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program where she was loved for the wonderful work she did.
Surviving are three children Rev. Gerard (Nancy) leFeber of Olean, Carol Ann Couvillion of Beaverton, OR and Deborah (Joseph) Ferrari of Nashua, NH; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by one brother Albert Ecke in 1983.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 4-7pm. Visitation will continue at St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany on Monday (September 12, 2001) from 10 to 11:00am at which time funeral services will be held. The Reverend William Kay and The Reverend Dr. Derek Cheek will co-officiate. Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the memorial fund at St. John's Lutheran Church 36 N. 4th St. Allegany, NY 14706 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
