Beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Grandfather
Allegany, NY Lawrence Carmel Crisafulli of Maple Avenue, went home to be with the Lord, early Thursday morning (June 30, 2011)
Born June 4, 1928 in Allegany, he was the first Son of the late Angelo and Celestina Crisafulli. On July 25, 1953 he married the former Elma Carucci, who survives.
Lawrence was a veteran of the US Navy and served for 4 years in the South Pacific, as well as Rhode Island for an additional year.
He was employed at Armour Inc. for several years, and then was a distributor for Canada Dry. He was then self employed in the concrete business, and later worked for Kinley Oil & Gas, where he retired.
He was a member of Saint Bonaventure Church, and a member of the Allegany American Legion.
He loved to garden and nurtured a hill full of blueberry bushes. Most of all, he loved his family and was proud to be a father and a grandfather.
Surviving besides his wife are ten children. Rose (Mark Mancuso) Crisafulli, of Allegany, NY; Christine (David) Murphy of North East, Pennsylvania; Angela (Ronn) Thompson of Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania; Anna (Michael) McGraw of Blountville, Tennessee; Larry (Betty) Crisafulli of Arlington, Texas; Anthony (Leah) Crisafulli of Rockledge, Florida; Peter (Peggy) Crisafulli of Arlington Texas; Elizabeth (Michael) Threehouse of Olean, New York; Angelo (Valerie) Crisafulli of Arlington, Texas and Christopher (Suzie) Crisafulli of Mansfield, Texas.
He also had Thirty-four grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are five siblings. Joseph (Joan) Crisafulli, John (Josephine) Crisafulli, Nick (Ruth) Crisafulli, Mike (Gail) Crisafulli, and Sarah (Jim) Kinley.
Friends may call at the Casey Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 Route 417, Olean, New York, on Saturday (July 2, 2011) from 5 to 7 and on Sunday (July 3, 2011) from 1 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, beginning with a prayer service at 9:30 followed by a 10:00am mass at Saint Bonaventure Church, and a burial at Saint Bonaventure Cemetery.
