"Loving husband, father, grandfather"
Allegany, NY Mark Ullman of 2467 Ten Mile Rd. died Tuesday (June 28, 2011) after a long, brave struggle with cancer.
Born May 10, 1959 in Olean, NY he was the son of Oliver C. and Velma J. Miller Ullman. On August 27, 1983 in the Stone Tower at Allegany State Park he married Laura M. Ayers who survives.
Mark was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1977 and first began working as a teenager at the Motherhouse. Starting in 1977 he worked for Salamanca Lumber Co. for twenty two years. In 1998 he established All Green Landscaping Co. He and his wife have operated the company up to the present.
He had an avid interest in gun collecting and in motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson's, where he formerly rode with the Coven Motorcycle Club in Wellsville. He was also a NASCAR fan, enjoyed racing stock cars and was a fanatic about remote control car racing. He also enjoyed camping and boating.
Surviving besides his wife are one daughter Brandy Bennett of Carey, NC; two sons Bryon (Sarah Fowler) Ullman of Jamestown and Brad (Ryan) Ullman of Allegany; five grandchildren; two brothers Merle (Marlene) Ullman and Hank (Marie) Ullman, both of Allegany; one sister Ella Mae (Wayne) Frank of Lady Lake, FL; his mother and father-in-law Gerald and Marie Ayers of Allegany; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, especially Nan Ullman of Great Valley and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother Roy E. Ullman.
Friends will be received on Friday (July 1, 2011) at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. All are then invited to a reception and celebration of Mark's life which will commence at the Allegany American Legion at 5:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
