Allegany-- Linda Marie Crisafulli, passed away on Friday (June 17, 2011) at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born November 3, 1955 in Allegany, NY to Thomas and Anita Helmert McCaffery. She is survived by her beloved husband, John, the son of John and Josephine Crisafulli. The two met and fell in love at Allegany High School as teenagers. They married when Linda was 18, and created a big beautiful family.
She graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, and worked at St. Bonaventure Motherhouse. She also worked as a bookkeeper for more than thirty years at Crisafulli Construction of Allegany, Inc. and Kinley Corporation.
Linda had a heart for Africa, and wanted to see her church send a mission team to the nation to assist in water well drilling efforts. She loved her family, friends and above all, she loved Jesus.
Surviving besides her husband are her parents, her children Rennie (Christie Sampson), Erich, Shawna ( Mark) Vitale, Nolan (April Margeson), Josh (Kristyn Fluent), Johnnie and his fiance (Niccole Canalungo). She was "Grandma Linda" to nine grandchildren Caden, Coralyn, Cole, Peter, Isaac, Lior, Calum, Ava, and Gage; two younger brothers Jeffrey (Teresa) McCaffery, David (Deborah) McCaffery; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her younger brother, Danny (Linda) McCaffery and her grandparents Joseph and Karolina Helmert and Velma and Edward McCaffery.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Saturday from 6-8pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday (June 20, 2011) at 11am at the Creekside Chapel on 2523 Five Mile Road in Allegany. Rev. Ken Tesh will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Project Clear Blue for the water well to be drilled in Africa in Linda's name or the HomeCare & Hospice, 1225 W. State Street, Olean.
