Obituary of Shirley Heath

Olean - Shirley E. Heath of 500 E. Spring Street #17 Olean, passed away Friday (June 3, 2011) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born November 16, 1928 in East Aurora, NY, she was the daughter of Charles and Esther Curtis Tebo. On June 28, 1947 in Salamanca, she married Lloyd I. Heath, who predeceased her in August of 1972.
Mrs. Heath attended school in Little Valley, NY and worked for the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center for 23 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Linwood Center as well as sewing and doing craft work for the church missions. She was active volunteer for the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels in both Gowanda and Olean, and for the East View and Boardmanville schools in Olean. She enjoyed donating her time and talents to help others less fortunate and once made a quilt to be used as a fundraiser for the Genesis House.
Surviving are three daughters Sally Goessel of Suffolk, VA, Sylvia (Shawn) Allen of Lycoming, NY and Julie (Charles) Ganoung of Olean; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister Thelma Pascarella of Salamanca; one brother Charles (Beverly) Tebo of Glenwood, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a daughter Barbara Smith; three sisters Cherry Mohr, Constant Comezzie and Barbara Tebo who died as an infant.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Sunday (June 5, 2011) at the Christ United Methodist Church in Olean at 2pm. Rev. William Allen and Rev. Kristen Allen will officiate.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean.
