Obituary of JoAnn Tierson

Allegany-- JoAnn M. Tierson, of 3974 Route 417 in Allegany, passed away Wednesday (April 13, 2011) at the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean, after a long illness.
Born June 19, 1935 in Olean, she was the daughter of Albert and Lena Dunbar Hanchett. On July 1, 1955 in Limestone, she married Thomas W. Tierson, who survives.
Mrs. Tierson was a graduate of Limestone High School. She was employed as a nurses aide at the Cattaraugus County Nursing Home retiring in 1995. In her free time she was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed going to the casino.
Surviving besides her husband are four sons Russell Tierson of Cuba, Ricky (Debbie) Tierson of Hinsdale, Rodney (Melissa) Tierson of Portville, Randy (Amy)Tierson of Derby Kansas; 8 grandchildren Gwen, Aaron, Rachelle, Melissa, Amber, Stephanie, Brandon, Amanda; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 3 brothers Richard, Robert and Howard Hanchett.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road this evening from 6-8pm and Saturday (April 16, 2011) from 12-2pm at which time funeral services will begin. Rev. Terry Jenks with the Maplehurst Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Veterans Field of Honors.
