Portville- Richard F. Wilson of 9690 Deer Creek Road, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (February 1, 2011) shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital.
Born September 25, 1926 in Olean, he was the son of James and Helen Robbins Wilson. On November 5, 1966 in Olean, he married Carol Wedlock, who survives.
Mr. Wilson was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed for 18 years at the Portville Central School, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed spending time with his dog Molly.
Surviving besides his wife is 1 sister Gerry Childs of Denver CO, 1 sister- in- law Velma Wilson of Weston Mills and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Jim Wilson and two sisters Thelma and Murial.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Memorials if desired may be made to the SPCA 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Road Olean, NY 14760.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean.
