Obituary of David Showers

David A. Showers Ischua, NY David A. Showers of 5811 Route 16 was pronounced dead upon arrival Saturday (January 22, 2011) at the Olean General Hospital. Born June 17, 1963 in Olean, NY he was the son of William and Shirley Shoupe Showers. Mr. Showers had resided in the Olean area most of his life and worked as a handyman in many places. He also worked for a short period of time for Petri's Cookie Factory in Silver Creek. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman with a love of camping and fishing. He also was skilled at vehicle repairs and most any home improvement project. He will be remembered by family and friends as one who was willing to help anyone in need. Surviving are his loving companion of many years Jeanette A. Green; one son David Showers, Jr. of Olean; several grandchildren; seven sisters and brothers Doris (Boyd) Dowell of Mt. Jewett, Eddie Showers, Linda Showers of Olean, Joan (Richard) Stanton, Sr. of Olean, Sylvia Poweska of Olean, Michael Showers of Salamanca and Franklin VanCamp of Salamanca and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Friday (January 28, 2011) from 3-4pm. Funeral and committal services will begin at 4pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society 441 N.
