Obituary of Joseph Casini

Olean-- Joseph B. Casini of 3163 Cranberry Road, passed away Friday (January 14, 2011) at the Olean General Hospital. Born April 7, 1919 in Roulette, PA, he was the son of Emidio and Nancy Tontoni Casini. On December 26, 1945 in St. John's Church in Olean, he married Adeline Butchello, celebrating 65 years of marriage together. Mr. Casini was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1940-1945 in the 103 Medical Battalion, receiving numerous medals and honors. In 1946, he started his employment at Dresser Rand in Olean, retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and an active member of the Olean Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council #338. He enjoyed writing poetry, coin collecting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife are three children Janice (John) Pelligrini of Olean, Anne Julanio of Olean, James A. (Diane) Casini of Frewsburg, NY; 5 grandchildren Kristin (James) Graham, David Gauhs, Melissa (Jeff) Machan, Julia Duffy, Anthony Juliano; 3 great-grandchildren Mia, Cooper, Lauren; 2 sisters Virginia Bruni of Port Charlotte, Florida, Anne Sutton of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Louis Casini and two sisters Christine Henning and Trudie Green. There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday (January 17, 2011) at 1pm at St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. James Vacco, OFM will officiate. Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
