Obituary of William Rothleder

William E. "Rocket" Rothleder Olean, NY William E. "Rocket" Rothleder of 106 Garfield Ct. died unexpectedly Tuesday (December 14, 2010) in the Olean General Hospital Born May 13, 1951 in Hornell, NY he was the son of William and Vivian Smith Rothleder. Mr. Rothleder was a graduate of Olean High School and also of Alfred State College. He had been employed by Dresser Rand Co. in Olean for 37 years and had been very active with the United Steelworkers Union Local #4601 as an insurance representative. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his "club buddies" and Dresser Rand co-workers. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved to cruise around the streets of Olean and most enjoyed regularly taking his grandkids to McDonalds. Surviving are one daughter Beth (Daniel) Rothleder Adams of Olean; one son Scott (Melissa Hensel) Rothleder of Olean; 3 grandchildren Mackenzi, Marissa and Mason Adams and a special friend Jennifer Martin. He was predeceased by his parents. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Friday from 5 to 8pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (December 18, 2010) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Ken Tesch, pastor of Creek Side Chapel in Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Town of Olean Volunteer Fire Department 1276 Old Rock City Rd. Olean, NY 14760 or to the SPCA 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Rd. Olean, NY 14760.
