Frank Lombardi "brother to Allegany resident" Altadena, CA.-- Frank Lombardi, a longtime resident of Altadena died Wednesday (March 26, 2003) in his home. Born November 19, 1923 in Farmingdale, NY he was the son of Joseph J. and Providence Baccarella Lombardi. Mr. Lombardi was a graduate of Baldwin High School on Long Island and also of Hofstra College where he received a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering. He was first employed for Liberty Aircraft prior to enlisting in the US Air Force. He was a veteran of WWII where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was then employed for nearly forty years as an engineer for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. Mr. Lombardi’s hobbies included boating, fishing and restoring antiques. Surviving are 1 sister Lillian G. Dascomb of Allegany; 1 brother Casper (Joan) Lombardi of San Antonio, TX; an aunt Mary Bonora of Long Island and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Joseph Lombardi. There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Allegany Cemetery to be held Monday (April 7, 2003) at 3:15pm. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the SPCA in Cattaraugus County 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Rd. Olean, NY 14760 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
