Obituary of Teresa Rogers

Teresa M. Rogers Olean, NY Teresa M. Rogers, a longtime Olean resident, died Monday (October 18, 2010) in the Cuba Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. Born November 7, 1918 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of James and Mary DiNapoli Rogers. Miss Rogers was a lifelong resident of Olean and graduated from Olean High School. She had been employed as a pharmacy clerk for the former Bestway Pharmacy in Olean for 30 years prior to her retirement. She also worked as an assistant in the office of Dr. Charles A. Shaffer in Olean. She was a member of St. John's Church in Olean and she kept her catholic faith as the center of her entire life. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, the Olean General Hospital Auxiliary and the SPCA in Cattaraugus County. She loved vegetable gardening, traveling and spending time with her family whom she was always present for when needed. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Mary Donato of Olean and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sisters Rose Rogers, Caroline Donato and Geraldine Edel and 2 brothers Nicholas Rogers and Anthony Rogers. There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Saturday (October 23, 2010) at 11:00am in St. John's Church. Rev. Edward Sheedy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. John's Church, Interfaith Caregivers 34 N. 4th St. Allegany, NY 14706 or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
