Obituary of Charles Krieger

Allegany-- Charles D. Krieger of 3666 Five Mile Road, passed away Friday (July 30, 2010) at the Olean General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born August 06, 1916 in Great Valley, he was the son of Julius and Belle Weatherly Krieger. On June 17, 1941 he married Elizabeth Margaret Meyers, who predeceased him on March 13, 2010.
Mr. Krieger had attended Great Valley Schools. He was a self employed farmer and had later worked for the former B&O Railroad, the town of Great Valley, the former Fancher Furniture, Norton Lumber Co. and the former Nason Delivery. Mr Krieger finally retired from the former Boss Linco Lines in Olean, in 1982.
He was a member of the Allegany Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and lawn maintenance.
Surviving are his 2 daughters Barbara (Kenneth W.) McClune of Salamanca, Diane (Joseph) Lamberson of Greensboro, NC; 4 grandchildren Kristine (Dan) Botsford, Elaine (Paul) McHardy, Michael (Kate) Lamberson, Kevin Lamberson; 2 great-grandchildren Amanda Huber and William Lamberson; 1 great great-grandson Dimitrious Taylor; 5 nieces and nephews Suzanne Osgood, Mary Grace Davis, Stanley and Fred Shultz and William Meyers.
Besides his wife he was predeceased by his brother James (Eloise) Krieger; 4 sisters Ina (Frank) Dettman, Isabelle (Lawrence) Sheehan, Grace (William) McCadden and Mary (Andrew) Schultz.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road on Thursday from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday (August 6, 2010) at 11am at the funeral home. Rev. Frank Hayman, pastor of the Allegany Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley.
