Anna Genevieve Ashraf "Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother" Arlington TX- Anna Genevieve Ashraf, formerly of West Valley and most recently Arlington, TX, passed away Thursday (July 15, 2010) at the Odyssey Healthcare Center, in Fort Worth, TX Born March 20, 1933 in Randall, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rose Morris Herbert. On December 3, 1958 in Buffalo she married Kasbun Ashraf, who predeceased her July 30, 1994. Mrs. Ashraf worked for the former Fisher Price Toy Company in Holland, NY. She was a former member of the Great Commission Baptist Church in Fort Worth TX and loved reading the Bible and praising the Lord. She enjoyed hosting large family gatherings, spending quality time with her sisters and her brother. Being a grandmother was her joy. She was also known to play bingo and try her luck in the lotto. Surviving are her 4 children Charles Ashraf of Olean, Mark (Jojuana) Ashraf of Fort Worth TX, Sabrina (Harold Willis) of Arlington TX, Sonja (Glenn) Yarbrough of Arlington TX; 1 brother Joseph Herbert of Olean; 2 sisters Martha Peterson of Arizona, Nellie Peterson of Olean; her grandchildren Jonathon Wilson, Brandon Charles Ashraf, Billy Jo McClain, Bobby Jo McClain, Brianna Williams, Jayla and Jenna Yarbrough, Jasmine, Jordan and Jenee Ashraf; Great grandchildren Ryan Alexander Wilson, Seniya Wilson, Alexia Yarbrough, Ebony and Camden McClain; and her close relatives Linda McClain, Mary Ruth Hemphill, Michele Ghani; dear friends Carol Patterson and Mary Lou Chapel; special nieces Sharlene Herbert, Pamela Davis, Ava Bryson and Cheryl Galmer. She adored her several nieces and nephews, Gary Herbert and his siblings, Benjamin Peterson and his siblings, Anita Herbert Bliss and her siblings, Alfred Herbert and his siblings, Neal Galmer and his siblings, and Gus Peterson III. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters Mary Jackson, Wilma Gayton, Bernice Galmer; sisters-in-law Nancy Herbert and Norma Mederos and Lateef Ghani whom she loved as a son. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road on Friday from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (July 24, 2010) at 1pm at the funeral home. Rev. Jay Gilbert, pastor of Rock of Revelation Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery Veterans Field of Honor. Memorials may be made to a Hospice of your choice or to the local one Homecare and Hospice 1225 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760.
