Allegany-- Dorothy M. Miller of 2461 Ten Mile Road, Allegany, passed away, Tuesday (June 29, 2010) at the Bradford Regional Medical Center, after a long illness. Born May 29, 1928, in Olean, she was the daughter of Laurence Monroe and Teresa Alvina McKay Perry, Sr. On May 30, 1946 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, she married Clarence L. "Bing" Miller, Jr., who predeceased her June 8, 1984. Mrs. Miller had been employed for the former Henry Shoe Store in Olean, St. Bonaventure University, Acme Electric in Allegany, Motorola in Arcade and for the former Castle Restaurant. She enjoyed canning, cooking, baking and doing plastic canvas crafts. Surviving are her 4 sons Claude (Donna) Miller of Allegany, Jerry (Bonnie) Miller of Allegany, Russell (Leona "Ope") Miller of Hinsdale, John (Diane) Miller of of Portville; 2 daughters Patricia Walden of Rushford, Maude (Charlie) Mitchell of Olean; 23 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by 1 daughter Rose; 1 brother Laurence M. Perry, Jr. and a son-in-law David Walden. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean, today from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday (July 2, 2010) at 10am at the funeral home. Rev. Al Batt with the South Side Union Chapel will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the American Lung Association 1301 Pennsylvania Ave NW Suite 800, Washington DC 20004.
