Mary B. Gilbert
Allegany, NY Mary B. Gilbert, of Allegany, died Sunday (June 20, 2010) at the Bridges of Mendon in Mendon, NY.
Born April 2, 1925 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Edward and Frances Parkhill Barten. On August 4, 1961 she married John Gilbert who predeceased her in August 1976.
Mrs. Gilbert was a 1943 graduate of Olean High School and was first employed for the former Socony Vacuum Co. and later as a clerk for the Social Security Administration in Olean.
Surviving are 1 son Michael Gilbert of Honeyoye Falls, NY; 1 daughter Maria Gilbert of Rochester and 2 grandchildren Ian Gilbert and Emma Gilbert.
At Mrs. Gilbert's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service scheduled at this time. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
