Olean-- Amelia C. Ercolani of 1612 Gemini Drive, passed away Thursday (June 17, 2010) at the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean after a brief illness.
Born March 22, 1921 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Edward and Jane Prisco Ingenito. On September 30, 1950 in Olean, NY she married Anthony G. Ercolani who predeceased February 21, 1996.
Mrs. Ercolani was a graduate of Olean High School. As a young girl she had worked for the former "Grand Leader". In 1941 she bought "Jane's Linen and Kiddie Shop" in Olean and in 1972 renamed it "Jane's Fashions Shop." Mrs. Ercolani retired in 1987 with her husband to Surfside Beach, South Carolina and later moved back to Olean in 1996.
She was a former member of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean, the former St. Anne's Lodge and the former St. Francis Hospital Guild.
Surviving are one daughter Betty Ann Sevinsky of Olean; one son Anthony Ercolani of Olean; 5 grandchildren T.J., Jenna and Anthony Sevinsky and Joel and Anna Disisto-Ercolani; 2 great-grandchildren Analyse and Marcus; 1 brother Edward Ingenito; 1 niece and 1 nephew; and several cousins in New York City and Italy.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road Olean on Sunday from 4-8pm, with an incense service beginning at 7:30pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday (June 21, 2010) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Maronite Church. Fr. Joseph Akiki, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
