Obituary of Amelia Salmonson

Allegany-- Amelia A. Salmonson, of 3461 Fortune Drive, passed away Saturday (April 24, 2010) at the Pines Health and Rehab Center, after a long illness.
Born October 6, 1925, in Olean, she was the daughter of Casimer and Katherine Kalin Wallon. She first married Louis (Ledge) De Rose, who predeceased her. On November 8, 1952, at Transfiguration Church, she married Charles V. Salmonson, who predeceased her on September 12, 2009.
Mrs. Salmonson was a 1944 graduate of Olean High School. She had worked for the former Leo's Grocery, the Olean General Hospital and later went to work for the Pines Nursing Home, retiring in 1989.
She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, crocheting and she loved spending time with her grandsons and her family.
Surviving are two sons Anthony "Ledgie" (Penny) Salmonson of Dayton, OH, James Salmonson of Allegany; one daughter Paula (Mark) Cotton, of Olean; 5 grandsons Hunter Salmonson of Orlando, Florida, Brian Cotton of Olean, Gregory Cotton of Olean, Michael Salmonson of Allegany, Vanni Salmonson of Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers Frank and Bernard Wallon; one sister-in-law Josephine Wallon; nephew and Godson Thomas Wallon.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday (April 28, 2010) at 1pm at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
