"Loving Mother"
Olean-- Sara Quigley of 3100 Cranberry Court Apartments, passed away Saturday (April 17, 2010) surrounded by her loving family, at The Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean.
Born August 12, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Enrique and Ernestine Verdugo Norville. She was married to Patrick F. Quigley who predeceased her June 2, 1997.
Mrs. Quigley was a graduate of Chapman Tech High School in New London, Connecticut. She has been a resident of Olean since 1965. She was employed for 6 years at the Olean General Hospital as a nurse's aide and later as a waitress at Angee's Restaurant in Olean for many years.
Mrs. Quigley was a die-hard Yankees Fan and she enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. She was "the best mother" and she loved spending time with her family. She also missed her beloved dog Missy. The Quigley Family would like to extend a special thank you to the Olean General Hospital (2nd Floor), Trans Am and The Pines in Olean for the wonderful care given their mother.
Surviving are her 6 children Joseph (Lynn) Iresabal of Surprise, AZ, Roseanne Iresabal of Stockertown, PA, Michael (Judy Gee) Iresabal of Olean, John "Jack" (Christine) Quigley of Olean, Brian Quigley of Olean and Susan (Jeff) Jovenitti of Kane, PA; 10 grandchildren Christopher, Sara, Jacob, Michael, Amanda, Alexis, Casey-Jo, Samantha, Rebecca and Andrea; 1 great-grandson Daniel and several nieces and nephews including Raquel and Delfino Berthely.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by an infant son Steven Quigley in 1965 and her 6 brothers Ernest Norville, Delfino Norville, Henry Norville, Samuel Norville, Elias Norville and Andrew Norville.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road Olean, NY on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held Wednesday (April 21, 2010) at 10:30am in the funeral home. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to HomeCare and Hospice 1225 W. State Street, Olean, NY 14760.
