Obituary of Rita Bell

Rita M. Bell "Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother" Olean, NY- Rita M. Bell of 206 N. 19th St. died peacefully Monday (February 22, 2010) in her home. Born February 10, 1933 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Clarence D. and Grace M. Howard Brookins. On April 7, 1951 she married Robert L. Bell who predeceased her July 13, 1990. Mrs. Bell was a homemaker who devoted herself to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Surviving are 1 daughter Brenda Irvin of Olean; 4 grandchildren Jodi (Don) Mallery, Robert (Christine) Irvin, Darcy (Brandon) Gould and Alicia (David Jewell) Harmon; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 2 daughters Barbara Ann Bell and Bonnie L. Harmon and 3 brothers Frederick Brookins, Clarence Brookins and Clifford Brookins. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday (February 24, 2010) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Pastor Robert Kaple of the Haskell Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst, NY.
