Obituary of Rosanna Sisson

Allegany-- Rosanna C. &amp;quot;Rosie&amp;quot; Sisson, a 2 year resident of the Absolut at Allegany, passed away Sunday (February 14, 2010) at the Absolut at Allegany, after a lengthy illness. Born April 9, 1912, in Olean, she was the daughter of William and Ethel Forester Green. She married Gaylord B. Sisson, who predeceased her in 1965, and later married George E. Sisson, who predeceased her on February 1, 1992. She had first worked for many years as a seamstress and interior decorator in Phoenix, Arizona. She and her family later moved back to the Olean area, where she was employed for AVX for several years. Later on, she went to cook for Camp Skwim and then for St. Bonaventure University. Rosie enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, checkers and loved to fish and hunt. Surviving are 4 daughters Betsy Arnold of Phoenix AZ, Rosanna Royer of Thompson, CT, Ethel Drane of Phoenix AZ, Helen Bogacz of Wellsville; 3 sons Robert D. Sisson of Friendship, Frank (Esther) Sisson of Olean, Edwin Sisson of Olean; 40 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren; 30+ great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sons Gaylord H. Sisson, William J. Sisson, Thomas E. Sisson; and 9 brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (February 18, 2010) at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
