Obituary of Doris L. Jadlowski

Doris Louise Jadlowski Allegany, NY-- Doris L. Jadlowski, 74, of Allegany, formerly of Putnam St. in Olean died Monday (December 1, 2003) in The Waters of Salamanca Health Care Facility after a long illness. Born July 24, 1929 in Burndale, PA she was the daughter of Frank and Irene Wolfe Dempsey. On April 19, 1947 she married Theodore E. Jadlowski, Sr. who predeceased her in January 2002. Mrs. Jadlowski worked at the former AVX Co., Tate’s Fur Store and the former Loretto Foods, Inc., all of Olean prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Allegany American Legion Auxiliary. She especially found joy in the companionship of her dog Maggie. Her family gives thanks to the staff of The Waters of Salamanca for the caring and compassionate support given to their mother during her illness. Surviving are 4 sons Theodore E. "Ted" (Susan) Jadlowski, Jr. of The Woodlands, TX, Thomas L. (Donna) Jadlowski of Sherman, NY, Terry L. (Penny) Jadlowski of Allegany, NY and Timothy A. (Bea) Jadlowski of Salamanca, NY; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 4 brothers Roy Dempsey, Leonard Dempsey, Robert Dempsey and Bernard Dempsey. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 6-8pm and on Friday (December 5, 2003) from 11:00am until noon. A celebration of Doris’s life will be held at noon in the funeral home, followed by internment in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Rev. David Johnson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Olean will officiate. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the SPCA 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Rd. Olean, NY or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
