Anthony C. Coletti
Olean, NY Anthony C. Coletti, of Olean, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at his home with his daughter and grandson at his side.
Tony was born in Olean on March 6, 1941 to the late Angelo Coletti and Helen (Clemmons) Coletti. In March 1958, at the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served until March 1962. Tony was a code interceptor during the Vietnam War and his tour of service included Vietnam, Turkey, Greece, and North Africa.
After the service, Tony returned to Olean and began working in various fields, including farming, roofing, and acting as a bouncer at various locations in Cattaraugus County.
In 1966, Tony married and had a daughter. In 1968, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and owned a successful roofing construction company. He also was a partner with several other roofing companies. Tony retired and moved back to Olean in 2007.
Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and golfing. He was a good-hearted man who was passionate about his strong opinions; and was always ready to defend his beliefs.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Gina Coletti of Olean; his grandson, Anthony Dakota Coletti of Olean; a sister, Alicia (Bob) Mozak of Florida; a brother, Gene (Kathy) Coletti of Bradford; his niece, Michele Mozak of Florida; his stepdaughter, Rhonda Farnham of Virginia, and several close friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; his niece, Andrea Coletti, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family invites friends to a visitation on Saturday (August 31, 2024) from 11am until 2pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A time for sharing will begin at 1:30pm.
A reception will be held at The Hall in Allegany at 80 N. 4th St. following the visitation, catered by Angie’s Restaurant.
