Caswell Madison Stanton
Keno, Oregon Caswell Madison Stanton, 29, passed away Sunday (December 24, 2023) in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Born October 18, 1994 in Olean, NY, he was the son of Robert C. and Elizabeth Fitch Stanton.
Caswell was a graduate of Allegany Limestone Central School and later studied mechanical engineering technology at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Caswell had a passion for fishing at a very early age!! He especially loved fly fishing and tying his own flies. He enjoyed everything outdoors including the wide-open beautiful spaces of freedom in Oregon. Cas enjoyed working with his hands and found much enjoyment with his accomplishments. He was an avid firearm shooting enthusiast, enjoying the long range at the local sportsman’s club.
He loved cooking for his friends and family. Mushroom hunting and mountain climbing were his new-found passions out West. He climbed Mt. Shasta, Mt. McLaughlin, the Three Sisters, and a very special hike to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. Caswell and his brother AJ and their friends enjoyed ATV riding thru the beautiful landscapes of Oregon.
He enjoyed and loved his dogs and took much comfort in them. As well, Caswell loved “Neil,” his 7th generation Ford F250 diesel pick-up truck!!
Along with his parents of Allegany, he is survived by a brother, Allan J. Stanton of Keno, Oregon and Grandfather, Allan W. Fitch of Allegany, NY; Aunt Kathleen Stanton, Uncle Todd and Aunt Linda Fitch, Great Uncle George and Aunt Maxine Caswell, Great Uncle Jon and Sherri Fitch and many cousins.
Cas is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Robert C. and Sheila G. Stanton, and his maternal grandmother, Doris Anne Fitch.
Caswell’s ashes have been spread in Oregon and New York with some to be laid to rest at a later date. Thank you to all of Caswell’s friends and family who have loved and supported him throughout his life.
Family and friends are welcome to a funeral service to be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 212 Laurens St. Olean, on Thursday, (January 4, 2024) at 11am. Pastor Adam Stein will officiate.
