Obituary of Elijah Thyleb Ramadhan

Elijah Thyleb Ramadhan Allegany, NY Elijah Thyleb Ramadhan, 25, of 2206 Sheldon Dr., passed away Tuesday (July 4, 2023) at his home after a brief illness. Born February 2,1998 in Sayre, PA, he was the son of Thyleb and Brenda Buck Ramadhan, Jr. Elijah was a 2016 graduate of Olean High School and was a standout athlete, having played on the 2016 State Championship team in basketball, and also was the first Olean High School student to advance to the State track meet to compete in the high jump. Additionally, he won numerous athletic awards. He loved all sports, especially basketball and football, and liked fishing as well as travelling. Being with his family was most important to him. He will be remembered as a good and quiet man with a kind heart. He leaves behind his loving parents of Allegany; his paternal grandmother Gwendolyn (Mike) Dames of Lockport; 2 brothers Kaleb Ramadhan and Gabriel Ramadhan, both of Allegany; One special auntie Carol (Mike) Appleyard of Richlands, NC; his 3 close cousins Sean (Kayla) Appleyard, Ryan Appleyard, and Dylan Appleyard, all of Richlands, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; his “best friend and auntie”, Ramona Williams, and a special uncle Rennell Smith of Jacksonville, NC. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Thyleb Ramadhan, Sr., and his maternal grandparents Bruce and Mary Lou Buck. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will be held Saturday (July 8, 2023) at 11am in the funeral home. Rev. Patick Lyons, pastor of Gospel Fellowship in Belmont, will officiate. Memorial donations may be made in the form of a contribution to the family to offset final burial costs and may be directed to the funeral home at the address listed above.
