Stacy Lynn Brushingham
Olean, NY Stacy Lynn Brushingham, 49, of 1901 Johnson Rd., passed away Sunday (February 12, 2023) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, after a recent illness.
Born May 10, 1973 in Olean, she was the daughter of William T. and Marjorie S. Adams Hoffman. On September 13, 1997 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean she married Shawn S. Brushingham who survives.
Stacy attended St. Mary’s Parochial School in Olean and graduated from Olean High School in 1991. She then received a degree from Alfred State College from which she graduated in 1994.
She worked for several hospitals including Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport, PA until 1996, and Bradford (PA) Regional Medical Center until 2006. She had worked remotely as a healthcare coding manager for St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, and in more recent years for the Reli Group in Baltimore, MD.
Stacy was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and enjoyed many outdoor hobbies including snow skiing and bike riding. She enjoyed walks with her husband as they took their dogs ‘Baxter’ and ‘Maylee’ on their daily outings. She also loved being at home and took pride in decorating her house, both inside and outside, and making it a welcoming place to just ‘hang with her kids’.
She leaves behind her husband Shawn; her mother Marjorie of Olean; 3 children Bailey R. Brushingham, Lucas J. Brushingham, and Ellie M. Brushingham; 4 siblings William T. Hoffman, Jr. of Baldwinsville, Terrence A. Hoffman of Orchard Park, Julie A. Hall of Allegany, and Daniel T. Hoffman of Arcade, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father William “Doc” Hoffman in 2002.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday (February 18, 2023) at 10am at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Burial will be at a later date in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
