Christine M. Conner
Allegany, NY Christine M. Conner, 56, of 3 Circle Oak Dr., passed away unexpectedly Sunday (April 24, 2022) at her home. Christine was a loving wife and devoted mother to her children.
Born March 15, 1966, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Leo and Helen Kellogg Carpenter. On July 4, 1984, in Shinglehouse, PA she married David J. Conner who survives. Early in their marriage she lived in both Kentucky and in Germany as her husband David was serving in the military. They began raising a family while David was in the Army and lived in Cuba in the 1990’s until moving to Allegany in 2001.
Christine graduated from Oswayo Valley High School in 1984. As a student she thrived in her academics. She was an active band member playing her silver trumpet and cheerleader where she proudly was the role of the top of the pyramid. One of her favorite memories was being “Miss Potter County” in the Miss Teen Pennsylvania where her talent portion was playing the piano. While balancing a young family and blooming career she later received a bachelor's degree from Empire State College. She worked for 10 years for the ReHabilitation Center in Olean, first as a house manager and then as the director of training. She completed a master's degree in counseling at St. Bonaventure University and began working as a guidance counselor for Allegany-Limestone Middle School. She also was serving as an adjunct professor for counseling at the University. Christine loved her calling as a school counselor and would speak highly of her peers along with her students.
Christine had many loves ranging from family, friends, her beloved Book Club, her Circle Oak Family, the family camp, reading, and of course her students. She loved to talk with everyone and to make sure everyone knew that they were loved by her. She had many sayings that made her so unique- “love, love, love that,” “time to Steeler up," and "we got this.” Her love of the Pittsburgh Steelers was known to everyone around her and began at an early age with her Uncle Tom. Christine was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She leaves behind her loving husband David; 2 sons Brandon Conner of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Aaron Conner of Pittsburgh, PA; 1 sister Julie Dingman of Cincinnati, OH; 2 brothers Randy (Linda) Carpenter of Bolivar and Dennis (Barb) Carpenter of Shinglehouse, PA and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Duane Carpenter.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1-4pm & 6-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. Funeral services will be held Friday (April 29, 2022) at 10am at the Little Bona Church. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, will officiate. The Burial will be in Bell Run Cemetery, Shinglehouse, PA.
