Kassie L. Small-Haynes
BRADFORD, PA Kassie L. Small-Haynes, 41, of 243 High St., passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday (January 8, 2022).
Born May 14, 1980 in Olean, she was the daughter of the late Kevin Hardy and the late Tina M. Small. On July 4, 2009 in Portville, she married William J. Haynes who survives.
Kassie attended school at Bolivar-Richburg Central School. She was a tireless worker her whole life and had been employed at various businesses in the area, including over ten years with the Olean Times Herald. Along with her husband, she was most recently a self-employed worker in their property maintenance business in the Bradford and Olean areas.
She was a creative and talented artist, and was devoted to helping her family and others because of her generous heart. She was involved in her community, especially with COLORS, and was a member of VS and the Haus of Black.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 16 years, Billy; her paternal grandmother Charlene Small of Little Genesee; 1 sister Heidi Furman of Duke Center, PA; 2 paternal aunts Shelley (Dennis) Peters and Regina Small, both of Little Genesee; her stepfather Rick Taylor of Ceres, PA who, along with her mother Tina, helped raise her from a young age; many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored; her mother-in-law and father-in-law Shelly and Robert Woods of Portville; 2 sisters-in-law Kimberly (Robert) Putt of Olean and Tina Carpenter of Port Angeles, WA and a brother-in-law Robbie Haynes of Portville.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her paternal grandfather John “Pepper” Small; a paternal uncle Willie Small and a sister-in-law Stacie Arneson.
Friends will be received on Thursday (January 13, 2022) from 3-6pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will begin at 6pm in the funeral home, presided over by Kassie’s friend, Dann Deckman-Hadden. Burial will be held privately in Bowler Memorial Cemetery, Little Genesee.
