Obituary of Doris E. Gore

Doris E. Gore Portville, NY Doris E. Gore, 97, of 10 Colwell St., passed away Thursday (August 26, 2021) in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. Born February 12, 1924 in Olean, she was the daughter of Walter J. and Azuba Gilliland Nitsche. She was married to Gerald Martin Gore who predeceased her April 5, 1970. Doris lived in this area and raised her family. In her earlier years she worked at the former Coral Lanes in Olean. She enjoyed hunting as a younger woman, and always enjoyed going to play bingo each week. She leaves behind 2 sons Terry (Kathy) Gore of Rushford and Alan Gore of Portville; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 2 daughters Deborah M. Irvin and Rebecca Gore Pantano, and a great grandson Corry Irvin. A graveside service will be held Tuesday (August 31, 2021) at 10am at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Dr. Anthony Evans, friend to the family, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
