Mary J. “Jackie” Orcutt Allegany, NY—Mary J. “Jackie” Orcutt of 4115 South Nine Mile Road Lot 110, died Thursday (February 21, 2008) at the Absolut Care of Allegany. Born February 4, 1923 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Leo C. and Reva Ellen Young Welch. On January 23, 1943 at the Navy Base in Norfolk, VA she married John W. Orcutt who survives. Mrs. Orcutt was a graduate of Olean High School and was a member of St. John’s Church. She was also active with the Allegany Sixty Plus Club. Surviving besides her husband are 4 children Sharon (Charles) Knowland of Penfield, James R. Orcutt of Olean, Richard M. Orcutt of Gainsville, GA and Deborah A. (Daniel) Hoffman of Farmington; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Leo Welch. There will be no visitation. A private graveside ceremony will be held at the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Msgr William Wangler, pastor of St. John’s Church, will officiate. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. John’s Church, the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Drive Williamsville, NY 14221 or to the American Cancer Society PO Box 7 East Syracuse, NY 13057. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
