Sally A. Mettler Olean, NY—Sally A. Mettler of 350 Front St. Apt. 510 died Thursday (August 7, 2008) in the Absolut of Allegany after a short illness. Mrs. Mettler was born November 29, 1948 and was first married to Gordon Johnson on July 26, 1971. He predeceased her in 1994. On March 27, 1998 in Olean she married Walter Mettler who survives. She was raised in Rew, PA and resided in Limestone most of her life prior to moving to Aspen Tower in Olean. She was a member of the Limestone Tabernacle Church and along with her husband she attended the Olean Revival Center and the YMCA. She also attended the Linwood Center. Surviving besides her husband are 1 daughter Brenda (William) Carpenter of Olean; 4 grandchildren William Carpenter, Jr., Gordon Carpenter, Cheyenne Carpenter and Christina Carpenter; 1 brother Richard Combs of Bradford, PA; 1 sister Connie Mack of Bradford, PA; 3 step children and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband she was predeceased by a stepson. Friends are invited to attend a visitation and funeral service at the Limestone Tabernacle Church on Monday (August 11, 2008) from 11:00am until 1:00pm at which time services will be held. Rev. Barbara Chadwick, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Ceres, PA. Memorials may be made to the Limestone Tabernacle Church or to the American Cancer Society.
