Obituary of Mark F. Schubel

Mark F. Schubel Olean-- Mark F. Schubel, 59, passed away peacefully, Monday (September 29, 2008) at his home, after a long illness. Born May 6, 1949, in Sandusky Ohio, he was the son of Donald Clare and Anne Rohde Schubel. In 1972, he married Laura Jane Edwards in Lewiston, NY, who survives. Mark graduated from Sandusky High School in 1968 and from The Ohio State University in 1972. He had a 35+ year career in the energy distribution equipment industry, most recently with Cooper Power Systems in Olean. He also held positions in manufacturing and facility planning with units of Cooper in Mt. Vernon, OH and Houston, TX. Mark’s avocations were his sailboat, which he and Laura kept in Wilson, NY and watching professional and college football, especially The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He was much loved for his quick dry wit and concern for others that he showed openly. Surviving besides his wife of 36 years, are their 2 daughters Emily (James) Higgins of Westerville Ohio, and Molly (Craig) Robertson of Toronto, ON; 2 grandsons Julian Edward Robertson and Desmond James Higgins; a granddaughter Mary Anne Robertson; a sister Claire Schubel !McLaughlin of Ann Arbor MI; 5 nephews and 1 niece. A memorial visitation will be held at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean, on Friday (October 3, 2008) from 1-2pm. A service will follow at 2pm. Rev. William L.
