Obituary of Harry R. Hogand

Harry R. Hogand Allegany-- Harry R. Hogand, of 1736 Chipmonk Road, passed away Friday (October 3, 2008) shortly after admission at the Olean General Hospital. Born February 8, 1919 in Ellwood City PA, he was the son of Claude and Marguerite Hogand. On March 27, 1948, he married Fay Bennett, who survives. Mr. Hogand had been employed as an industrial logger and oil hauler, before he began his career at Pennzoil Co. in Bradford, where he retired from after 12 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid raccoon hunter as well as a lifetime member of the !McKean County Coon Hunters Association. Surviving besides his wife of 60 years, are their 5 children Robert (Ann) Hogand of Olean, Ronald (Jenny) Hogand of Bradford Pa, Grace Ramsey of Olean, Debbie (Lee) Willett of Great Valley, Darla (Walt) Reiller of Salamanca; 14 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Margaret Hogand in 1951. A memorial visitation will be held at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean on Wednesday (October 8, 2008) from 4-7pm. A private funeral service will be held on Thursday. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse NY 13220-3049.
