Leona M. Fye
Olean, NY—Leona M. Fye, a 6 year resident of the Pines of Machias and a former Olean resident, passed away Wednesday (November 26, 2008) at the Pines in Machias.
Born February 19, 1937 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Sylvester G. and Helen Ruth Baker James. She later married Howard Arthur Fye, who predeceased her.
Mrs. Fye was a lifelong resident of Olean and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Olean. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and following soap operas.
Surviving are a brother Albert James of Olean; 2 nephews David James and Paul James; and a niece Ruth James.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by 1 sister Mary Mallory, 1 brother Louis James; and a sister-in-law Arlene James.
Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road on Sunday from 2-4pm at which time funeral services will be held. Rev. Dr. Anthony L. Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
