Obituary of Charanjit K. Gulati

In Loving Memory of Charanjit “Neena” K. Gulati Allegany, NY It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Charanjit K. Gulati, a beloved wife and cherished mother, who left us unexpectedly on Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was 69 years old. Charanjit, known as Neena to all who knew and loved her, was born in June of 1954 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Mehar Singh and Raj Kaur. The eldest of five children, Neena was not only a sibling but a protective and caring figure to her three sisters and one brother. Neena first met Rajan Gulati while he was traveling in Malaysia. They later married in his hometown of New Delhi, India, on Christmas Day 1976. She and Rajan moved to New York City in 1977, where their first child Rahul was born a year later. In 1981 they established their roots in the Allegany/Olean area, where their second child Neesha was born in 1989. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Neena led a quiet life where she focused on her spirituality and personal growth. As such, she found happiness in raising her children, being a devoted wife, and treasuring her family and friendships. She brought immense joy to those who knew her and enjoyed helping others in the community. While her sudden departure leaves an irreplaceable void and her infectious laughter and nurturing aura will be missed, her spirit will continue living on in the many lives she touched. She leaves behind her loving husband Rajan of 47 years; 2 children Rahul and Neesha; four siblings; and numerous relatives and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Neena’s life will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024. The family welcomes friends to a visitation from 11am to 12pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A service will begin at 12pm in the funeral home. A ceremony will take place at the crematory just prior to cremation. In keeping with Neena’s spirit of helping others, in lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com. May Neena’s soul be at peace, reunited with those who went before her, and may her loved ones find solace in the precious moments they shared with her during her time on this Earth.
