Obituary of Michael E. Glover

Michael E. Glover Olean, NY Michael E. Glover, 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday (January 1, 2024) at his home. Born September 26, 1946 in Olean, he was the son of Frank E. and Clara M. Lippert Glover, Sr. On November 27, 1985 at the former Allegany Free Methodist Church, he married Florence C. Bailey who survives. Michael was a graduate of Olean High School and also of Olean Business Institute. At the start of his working career, he was employed by H&R Block and did tax preparation. He then worked for Clark Brothers for a short time until beginning work for the former AVX Corporation. After a period of years, he worked for AMC in Olean for 14 years until his retirement at age 65. He was a family man who enjoyed his life with Florence and were a couple totally devoted to each other’s happiness and well-being. To her, and to their family, he was a patient, generous, and sometimes silly man, especially to his grandchildren whom he loved so much. Michael was a life member and former president of the Olean Rod and Gun Club. He was a competitive skeet shooter and won many awards, and he also was knowledgeable about many different guns and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He leaves behind his wife Florence; 2 children, Amy (Jerome) Trass of Olean and Raymond Jeffrey Ingram of Allegany; 2 grandchildren, Diane (Daniel) Snyder, and John David (Hilary) Loyd; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Herman (Jamie) Glover of Rixford, PA and Norman (Mary Beth) Glover of Portville; 1 sister Jodi Baker of Rochester, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, infant Frank Glover, Jr., and Frank Glover, III. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. Visitation will continue on Saturday (January 6, 2024) from 10am until 11am at which time a funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
