Obituary of Victor J. Giardini

Victor J. Giardini Allegany, NY– Victor J. Giardini of 39 Chestnut St. died suddenly Thursday (May 19, 2005) shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital. Born June 4, 1940 in Vandalia, NY he was the son of John and Marion Thomas Giardini. On October 1, 1966 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean he married Patricia A. Panada who survives. Mr. Giardini was a lifelong resident of Allegany and was a veteran of the US Army from 1962 until 1964 and the US Army Reserves until 1966. He had been employed for 35 years in the maintenance department of St. Bonaventure University until his retirement in 2002. He was a life member of the Allegany Engine Co. having been a 40 year active member. He also belonged to the Allegany American Legion Post 892. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving besides his wife are 4 children Stephen (Mary) Giardini of Olean, Christopher (Michelle) Giardini of Allegany, Angela (Thomas) Nelson of Olean and Valerie Giardini of Allegany; 8 grandchildren; 7 brothers and sisters Gerald (Carolyn) Giardini of Allegany, Thomas (Lin) Giardini of Round O, SC, Ronald Giardini of Allegany, Margie (John) Hirst of Olean, Anita Giardini of Allegany, Michael Giardini of Limestone and Sharon (Roger) Vincent of Houston, TX and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant sister Linda Sue Giardini. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean tonight from 7-9pm and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (May 23, 2005) at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Rev. Gregory Brennan, OFM, will officiate.
